On April 26, 2016, VIA Metropolitan Transit will conduct a regular board meeting beginning at 5 p.m. in the Eskridge Community Room located at the VIA Metro Center, 1021 San Pedro, San Antonio, Texas.  The VIA Board of Trustees will hold a hearing during this meeting, seeking public comments on the South/West Corridor Transit Improvements Initiative.

The proposed project will expand transit service and facilities in two of the highest-use corridors in the city—Zarzamora Street and Military Drive.

Comments received will supplement those already received at two Community Meetings previously held in February.  These meetings were held to receive input from stakeholders on the environmental process and preliminary design phases of this project.

Comments offered at previous meetings include general support for the project; expanding Primo services in both the Zarzamora and Military corridors; and the importance of connections between the South Texas Medical Center Transit Center, the Madla Transit Center and the Texas A&M University-San Antonio campus; and providing dedicated dispatchers to ease congestion in the corridors.

As our population and road use in the Greater San Antonio Region grow, VIA is developing transportation solutions to ease congestion, improve air quality, and get you to where you want to go.  To learn more about this initiative go to viasmartmove.com/southwest-corridor-transit-improvements/ or our board meeting go to viainfo.net/Organization/BoardMeetings.aspx.
